2018 Mount Dora Heroes Foundation Paw Parade
Saturday, November 24 - 9 a.m.
The Paw Parade starts at the corner of Sunset Park and Alexander Street, featuring all the plentiful pooches in a fun parade. Nominate your cuddly canine at the Mount Dora Canine Contest for your chance to have your pooch chosen to be Mayor! After the parade, the official Blessing of the Pets will take place at Sunset Park.
Light Up Mount Dora

4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Pre-show starts at 4:30 p.m. with the switch to all the lights being turned on at 6:30 p.m. Live entertainment at Donnelly Park including singing, dancing and ending with a countdown to turn on all the lights. There will even be a visit from Santa! Make your way to Sunset Park on 4th for the big tree lighting after the City Lights are turned on.
Tip-A-Cop to Benefit Shop With A Cop

Annual Mount Dora Christmas Walk

Free admission to a family friendly street party in downtown Mount Dora featuring live music, dancing, shopping and Santa. Stroll the streets to enjoy the lights, vendors, live reindeer, and a chance to meet Santa in front of the Sunset Park Tree.

Christmas parade in the streets of downtown Mount Dora at 10:00 a.m. It's a fun, festive parade down Donnelly Street through downtown Mount Dora featuring clubs, groups, bands, Public Safety and an appearance by Mr. and Mrs. Claus being pulled in their sled!

25th Christmas Lighted Boat Parade
Saturday, December 1, 2018 - 7:30 p.m.
Parade begins on Lake Dora, at the Lighthouse on Grantham Point, across from Gilbert Park on Tremain Street and Liberty Avenue, Downtown Mount Dora. Local boat owners compete for best in light show display and originality.
The Nutcracker Ballet

Christmas Tour of Homes

Tour Mount Dora homes that are beautifully decorated for the holidays. Come see historic homes decorated with a personal touch to celebrate the holiday season. Santa Tour with Mount Dora Public Safety – 5 p.m. – 9 p.m.
December 4, 5 and 6 - 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Mount Dora Police and Fire tour neighborhoods in the city using golf carts, PD vehicles, the Bearcat and a Firetruck, towing Santa in a Sleigh to meet kids, give out candy, stuffed animals and dog treats. The tour starts downtown the first night with Santa stopping at Donnelly Park for a meet and greet. It’s a tradition that grew from 1 day to 3!
Annual Christmas Tree Lighting at W.T. Bland Public Library
Wednesday, December 5, 2018 – 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Join us for a tree-mendous time singing holiday favorites with the Triangle Elementary children's choir. Enjoy cookies and punch out in the Butterfly Garden, while being serenaded by the Mount Dora Dulcimer Society and our Ukulele Band. Kids can get creative at our ornament making workshop and make Christmas cards with the PAWS Therapy dogs. Watch Santa & Mrs. Claus light the Christmas tree. Meet Margaret and H.A. Rey's storybook character, Curious George.
Gingerbread Man Cookie Decorating at W.T. Bland Public Library

Christmas in a Cruiser

Help Mount Dora Police Officers stuff a police cruiser to provide local families in need with gifts this Holiday Season! Officers and volunteers will be at the Target on Hwy 441 in Mount Dora collecting unwrapped toy donations for kids ages 1-18.
Shop With a Cop at Target
Saturday, December 8, 2018 - 8 a.m. to Noon
The Mount Dora Police Department and Target of Mount Dora presents our annual "Shop with a Cop" event. Police Officers from the MDPD will take 30 pre-selected students from our three local schools to Target in Mount Dora. The students will get a one-on-one shopping experience with a Police Officer. Students will receive a $100 gift card that they could use to buy clothing, shoes, or toys. The students and their families will also receive a Christmas Basket donated by Lake Cares Food Pantry. "Shop with a Cop" is a program supported by the generosity of Mount Dora local citizens and businesses.

Holiday Plants at W.T. Bland Public Library

Poinsettias, Christmas cacti and amaryllis are beautiful but not the only holiday plants around - learn about these traditional holiday plants and some other colorful options to brighten your holidays. Topics: choosing the right plant, keeping plants healthy during the holiday season and Florida-friendly landscaping techniques to grow these diverse plants after the holidays. Blackwater Creek Bluegrass Band Holiday Concert at W.T. Bland Public Library
