The Mount Dora Fire Departmentconsists of highly trained men and women dedicated to serving the citizens and visitors of Mount Dora with quality-based fire and emergency service, medical assistance, fire prevention, and public education.
Our department is made up of one Fire Chief, two Deputy Fire Chiefs, one Administrative Coordinator, one Fire Inspector, six Shift Lieutenants and sixteen Firefights who are also trained EMTs and Paramedics.
We provide Advance Life Support (ALS) and deliver the highest level of care available outside a hospital emergency department. A wide array of diagnostic equipment including a defibrillator, a cardiac monitor/pacer and pulse oximetry coupled with a variety of medications means victims of sudden illness, especially sudden cardiac illness, receive the treatment they need to survive prior to being transported by Lake EMS to the hospital emergency department.
This November, the Mount Dora Fire Department is "growing" awareness about prostate and colorectal cancer by growing mustaches.
Follow us on Facebook for "Mustache Monday" updates and vote for your favorite 'stache on November 30th.
Please help us grow awareness by making a donation to the American Cancer Society to help research, share expert information, support patients, and spread the word about cancer prevention.
Make a minimum donation of $10 and receive a Mount Dora Fire Department BROvember Awareness Rubber Bracelet (while supplies last).
Donations can be made on our Relay For Life page or pay by cash or check (made out to “Local 3088”) dropped off to our Administrative Office located at Station 34, 1300 N Donnelly Street (visitor parking in front), Monday - Friday 8 am to 5 pm. Cash and check donations will be deposited into the Relay for Life account.
