The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) is staffed by senior personnel with training and experience in criminal investigations.  The bureau commander oversees all major investigations. CID is responsible for the investigation of criminal activity in the city of Mount Dora, Florida. The mission of CID is to provide the highest quality criminal investigative support to all cases documented by the patrol division. CID detectives are steadfast in their resolve and will mobilize all available resources to accomplish their tasks.


Detectives are responsible for locating and interviewing victims and witnesses; preserving physical evidence; recovering stolen property; identifying, locating, interviewing and arresting criminal suspects; and presenting criminal cases to the State Attorney for prosecution.

CID detectives are ready to respond anytime, day or night, to the needs of crime victims, or to the scene of any criminal activity. Their specialized training includes Death Investigations, Sex Crimes, Interview and Interrogation Techniques, Crime Scene Processing, Financial Fraud Investigation, and many other investigative disciplines.

The detectives also track sex offenders currently residing in the City and work closely with other agencies in Central Florida to ensure these individuals do not re-offend.
