The Modernism Museum Mount Dora is pleased to announce its new exhibition, Space Oddities: The Sequel. The exhibition opens on Tuesday, July 9th and will run until mid-2020.
Space Oddities: The Sequel expands upon the Modernism Museum’s exhibition of mind-bending Post-Modern designs created by the radical 1980s design collective known as Memphis. This exhibit features hundreds of new Memphis design objects never-before displayed at the Modernism Museum.
A members-only opening reception will be held on Wednesday, July 10th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM in the Modernism Museum gallery. This event is only open to 3MD Members; however, memberships will be available for purchase at the event. Individual-level Memberships start at $40 and several levels are available. Working in both figurative and non-representational modes, Tonape focuses on nature. His paintings are “melodies” orchestrated by the artist, rooted in the visual rhythms of gesture and color, recorded in the subject matter.

Curious about the wood carving hobby? All ages and all skill levels (especially beginners) are welcome at our weekly Wood Carvers Club. Spare knives are available for use at your first meeting. Learn proper wood carving techniques, carving safety, layouts, wood types and more. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. This class is taught by experienced carvers.
