Special Events
The Parks and Recreation Department offers many department-sponsored events throughout the year. In addition, there are several major events each year that are sponsored by the City of Mount Dora as well as the Mount Dora Area Chamber of Commerce, VisitMountDora, the Mount Dora Center for the Arts, the Mount Dora Lions Club, and other area organizations.

Renninger's Antique Extravaganza Dates
January 17, 18 & 19

An antique lover's dream! This event held at Renninger's Twin Markets, is one of the largest gatherings of antique dealers in the south with over 1500 dealers attending. Antique Fairs held third weekend of each month. For more information, contact the twin markets at (352) 383-8393 or 800-522-3555.

 39th Annual Arts Festival
February 1- 2, 2014 - (1st of weekend in February)
A juried fine arts festival, for art lovers, casual festival-goers and families, nothing compares to the Mount Dora Arts Festival. In addition to the endless rows of fine art, including oil paintings, watercolors, acrylics, clay, sculpture and photography, the festival features local and regional musical entertainment at a main stage in Donnelly Park.

17th Annual Mount Dora Music Festival
February 20 - 23, 2014 - (3rd weekend in February)
Celebrate four-days of great music: An evening with Chad & Jeremy, 60s British Invasion duo, Saturday 7:30 pm, and the legendary Leon Redbone, Friday 7:30 pm, plus 10 free concerts featuring the Teen Music Talent Contest, Music in Donnelly Park, various performances at the Lakeside Inn, library, local churches and assorted venues.

"Freedom on the Waterfront": A Fireworks Celebration
July 3, 2014
Join us for a vibrant display of fireworks and special effects on Lake Dora. Enjoy live music, kids' activities and food vendors. The festivities will take place at Evans Park and Simpson Cove beginning at 5:00 PM, with fireworks beginning at 9:15 PM. Independence Day Parade
July 4, 2014
Celebrate our Independence with a traditional downtown parade. The parade will kick off on Donnelly Street, at 7th Avenue with an interactive patriotic celebration that best salutes our nation's holiday. Due to the construction of Donnelly Street, just south of 5th Avenue, the parade will take place along an alternative route beginning on 7th Avenue and ending on 4th Avenue.
