City of Mount Dora customers receive waste services from one of three providers based on their address location:
- Within City Limits – Waste Management - 866-684-3142
- Unincorporated Lake County – Lake County Solid Waste - 352-343-3776
- Orange County – Orange County Solid Waste - 407-836-6601

Household Hazardous Waste Disposal
Items considered household hazardous waste are paint, motor oil, gasoline, propane tanks, antifreeze, car batteries, household batteries (including rechargeable batteries), lawn chemicals, fluorescent light bulbs, aerosol cans, pool chemicals and pesticides. Whenever possible, it is recommended that the item be kept in its original container. If the container is leaking, it should be put in a new container. Please mark any unlabeled containers. Household hazardous waste should be transported in the rear of your vehicle and not stored in the vehicle for extended periods.
Household hazardous waste for residents within City Limits or in Unincorporated Lake County is collected at the Household Chemical Collection Center, located at 13130 County Landfill Road, County Road 561, and by the mobile unit. The Household Hazardous Waste Center is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 am to 5 pm and Wednesday and Saturday from 8 am to 4 pm. Household hazardous waste for residents of Orange County is handled by Orange County Solid Waste Division located at 5901 Young Pine Road, Orlando, FL 32829. For more information, please contact the Solid Waste Hotline at 407-836-6601.
