Household Hazardous Waste Disposal

Items considered household hazardous waste are paint, motor oil, gasoline, propane tanks, antifreeze, car batteries, household batteries (including rechargeable batteries), lawn chemicals, fluorescent light bulbs, aerosol cans, pool chemicals and pesticides. Whenever possible, it is recommended that the item be kept in its original container. If the container is leaking, it should be put in a new container. Please mark any unlabeled containers. Household hazardous waste should be transported in the rear of your vehicle and not stored in the vehicle for extended periods.

Household hazardous waste for residents within City Limits or in Unincorporated Lake County is collected at the Household Chemical Collection Center, located at 13130 County Landfill Road, County Road 561, and by the mobile unit. The Household Hazardous Waste Center is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 am to 5 pm and Wednesday and Saturday from 8 am to 4 pm.
