Mission

The board is responsible for all matters relative to historical preservation, including:

  • Adapting codes
  • Exploring grants
  • Inventory of structures
  • Planning future projects
  • Property protection
  • Public programs
  • Recommending sites for National Register
  • Reviewing demolition permits to determine historical significance

The board was established by Ordinance 623 on November 2, 1993.

Membership Criteria

The seven-member resident board is appointed by the City Council for two-year staggered terms.
