Mission
The board is responsible for all matters relative to historical preservation, including:
- Adapting codes
- Exploring grants
- Inventory of structures
- Planning future projects

- Property protection
- Public programs
- Recommending sites for National Register
- Reviewing demolition permits to determine historical significance

The board was established by Ordinance 623 on November 2, 1993.
Membership Criteria
The seven-member resident board is appointed by the City Council for two-year staggered terms.
