  1. New exhibition at the Modernism Museum-- Space Oddities: The Sequel

    The Modernism Museum Mount Dora is pleased to announce its new exhibition, Space Oddities: The Sequel. The exhibition opens on Tuesday, July 9th and will run until mid-2020. Space Oddities: The Sequel expands upon the Modernism Museum’s exhibition of mind-bending Post-Modern designs created by the radical 1980s design collective known as Memphis. This exhibit features hundreds of new Memphis design objects never-before displayed at the Modernism Museum. A members-only opening reception will be held on Wednesday, July 10th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM in the Modernism Museum gallery. This event is only open to 3MD Members; however, memberships will be available for purchase at the event. Individual-level Memberships start at $40 and several levels are available.   2. Off the Beaten Path Arts Tour

    Welcome into local studios to meet artists in their work environments, watch demonstrations, enjoy light refreshments, and shop for unique original works of art. The varied types of offerings include paintings, sculptures, textiles, jewelry, ceramics, woodworks, photography, printmaking, and illustration. Enjoy a self-guided tour with easy-to-follow interactive maps that are on the website, which also features listings of each location with artist information. The new website at artstours.org/lake-county-tour/ is also compatible with smart phones to allow easy navigation on the road. This year in Lake County we have 14 Studios – 20 Artists, includes stops in Eustis, Mount Dora, Umatilla, Sorrento, Leesburg, Tavares, and Weirsdale. A few of the artists are Odalys Garcia, Kelly Cornell, Lynn Herrick, Eric Schooley, Elisabeth Ferber, and more.

  4. Ladies First Luncheon

    The First National Bank of Mount Dora, in conjunction with Mount Dora Community Trust will be hosting its 25th Annual Ladies First Luncheon on Wednesday, April 8th, 2020. This will be a fun and fascinating event with keynote speaker, Mary Flynn. We are also excited to welcome the Honorable Cathy Hoechst, Mayor of Mount Dora and Rob English, Executive Director of Mount Dora Community Trust as part of the program. Keynote Speaker Mary Flynn is an award-winning author of fiction and poetry as well as an acclaimed international conference speaker and leadership program facilitator with the Disney organization. Mary will entertain our guests with her hilarious monologue “Confessions of a Hallmark Greeting Card Writer”. Event Details Tickets are $14 per person – advance purchase only by contacting The First National Bank of Mount Dora at 352-383-2140.
