Duke Energy contract crews will be pruning trees along electric lines located within the City of Mount Dora for the next three months. The main areas of trimming are listed below:
- Along SR46 and adjoining streets from US441 to just past Buttercup Lane
- South of Railroad track just east of US 441
The tree crews will be cleaning up all debris associated with the maintenance activities. Part of the pruning activity may occur on lines located in the back lots which will require climbing. Duke Energy, Florida states they balance the need for reliable electric power with sensitivity for the environment and tree health. They have been recognized for their tree care practices with the distinctive Tree Line USA designation from The National Arbor Day Foundation for 13 consecutive years, Tree crews use a technique known as directional pruning, which is endorsed by The National Arbor Day Foundation and the International Society of Arboriculture.
