Some of the best vistas of Lake Dora are hidden by the dense underbrush along the railroad tracks on Old US 441 starting around where 6th Ave turns into Helen St. and going west, towards Lakeshore Dr. Now that the Orange Blossom Cannonball will be making trips to Mount Dora along this route, the views from the train ride would really benefit from a good clearing, and potentially adding a variety of colorful wildflowers would really make it picture perfect.

Removing the telephone poles and burying the cable along Lakeshore Dr. would dramatically improve the aesthetic of the area. The power lines come into dangerously close contact with the large live oaks and palms on this stretch of road, and load the cabling with spanish moss. The cable company has really turned the utilities into an eye sore by continually adding drooping coaxial cable along this otherwise pristine stretch of road.
