Lisa McDonald joined the City of Mount Dora as the Public Information Officer in April of 2017. Lisa comes from a journalism background having worked from 2014 to 2017 as an assignment editor and social media specialist at WOFL FOX 35. Before that, she worked at WKMG Ch 6 for 17 years as an assignment editor, photographer, videographer, segment producer and writer.
Lisa grew up in Winter Park and has lived in the Central Florida area since the 1970’s. She went to school in Winter Park and decided to hop off to England and Holland for a few months after her high school graduation (where she developed a love of traveling). When she returned, she went to Valencia College, where she received her Associates in Art and took a few years off to work full time. When the time came, she attended the University of Central Florida, graduating in 1995 with a Bachelor’s in Radio and Television Communications.
While Lisa was still in school, she started to work at Real Radio 104.1 as on-air talent and promotions before moving into the role as a mid-day talk show producer before leaving for the world of t.v. news.
Currently, Lisa is living in Oviedo with her husband Andy of 19 years, their son Maximilian who is 16 and currently at Lake Howell High school where he is active in ROTC. She is also a mom to two cats and a registered Yoga Teacher who actively teaches in the community. Her loves include her family, yoga photography and social media and travel.
